8 August 2018 - One month to go until the Old Eastbournian reunion

The Old Eastbournian reunion takes place on Saturday 8 September, just one month to go!

There is still time to book your places at the reunion, and you can come to as many or as few of the day's events as you wish.

This year, the reunion is open to OEs from all eras, an opportunity to celebrate as we approach the end of the College's 2017-18 150th anniversary year.

There will be a chance to have a guided tour of the Project 150 development, which includes the new sports hall, swimming pool, dining hall and function suite, as well as numerous new classrooms, the IT centre and the school shop.

There will also be two rugby games on College Field, with the OE Stags at 11.00am and the 1st XV against King's Canterbury at 2.30pm.

You are welcome to come to lunch, tea and dinner. Both lunch and tea are free, and there is a £25 charge for the reception drinks and dinner in the evening. If you would like to come along, please let us know which meals you would like, whether you have any dietary preferences and if you are planning to bring a guest. Husbands, wives and partners are all welcome.

3 August 2018 - Hugh Skinner (Pennell 1998-2003) in new Mamma Mia! movie

Hugh Skinner (Pennell 1998-2003) is in the follow-up to the Abba musical Mamma Mia!, which has recently been released in cinemas.

In Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Hugh plays the younger version of Harry, who was portrayed by Colin Firth in the first film. He is seen here with Lily James, who takes the role of the young Donna, Meryl Streep's character in the original.

In various interviews Hugh has commented that taking on the role was quite intimidating, but he focused on the part rather than trying to imitate Colin Firth.

Hugh's singing ability will come as no surprise to those who remember him in the College's production of Little Shop of Horrors, when he played the lead role of Seymour. He also appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar, when The Eastbournian magazine at the time praised his 'real vocal dexterity and theatrical presence'.

Hugh has had a busy few years, having played Will in the BBC comedy W1A, Unwin Trevaunance in Poldark, and Harry in the tragicomedy Fleabag. He also appeared as Prince William in the satirical comedy The Windsors on Channel 4 and as a first officer in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
