15 December 2015 - Informal London pub evening

A small group of Old Eastbournians got together for a pre-Christmas drink in London on Tuesday.

The venue was the Mayfair Exchange in Brook Street, which we have used before for our regular informal London pub evenings.

We aim to have two such evenings a year in London, with a further two held in Eastbourne.

Details of the next pub evenings will be updated on our Forthcoming events page, which also carries information of other up-and-coming reunions, lunches, dinners, trips and talks.

3 December 2015 - First stage of Project 150 demolition completed

The first stage of Project 150, the demolition of a number of buildings, has been completed.

Over a period of 51 days, starting in early August, the contractors took 279 loads of timber, concrete, metal and other scrap to be recycled, clearing 1.4 acres in the process.

The picture here is a view taken from Carlisle Road, showing the Headmaster's House on the left, Big School in the middle and the Science Centre on the right. The dip in the cleared part of the site is where the swimming pool used to be.

The building phase of Project 150 has now commenced, with VINCI Construction arriving on site on Monday 16 November, their first task being to install a large rainwater soakaway on College Field.

1 December 2015 - College 1st XV win every game in November

The College's 1st XV have won every game they have played in November, without conceding a single try.

Director of Sport Mike Harrison writes:

'The College played Brighton College in the annual block rugby fixture on Saturday with the 1st XV turning round the results of the last few years to win 12–3 in spectacular fashion on College Field.

'The 1st XV have now won eight from nine fixtures this season so far with one fixture left to play.

'Thanks to their exceptional work ethic, the senior squad have been an inspiration to all other teams.

'They have won every game in November, having been tipped by the fifteenrugby.com website to lose every game, and have not conceded a single try. They have now been nominated for Team of the Month.'

The squad are pictured here after their victory on Saturday 28 November.

The College now has a sports Twitter feed for you to keep up-to-date with all sport being played, not just rugby: @EBCSport
