*** Please note there is a planned rail strike on the 4 October***
The Combined Cadet Force was formed in 1948, and the College is helping to celebrate its 75 years’ existence with Choral Evensong in St Clement Danes Church, and a dinner in the House of Lords on Friday 2 February 2024 (more details later; please save the date).
All are welcome to attend Evensong sung by the joint choirs of Eastbourne College and St Clement Danes in the Central Church of the RAF where the Revd Mark Perry (father of a current pupil, of an OE, and husband of College chemistry teacher Hannah Perry) is resident chaplain.
We are grateful to the Venerable Dr (Air Vice-marshal) Giles Legood, chaplain-in-chief of the Royal Air Force who has given permission for our service and who will be the preacher for the occasion.
Jules Sherwood (Blackwater 1977–82), development director at St Clement Danes Church, will be our tour guide for any who want to join us earlier for a closer look round the building.
The tour will be from 3.45pm to 4.30pm to accommodate choir rehearsal times, then tea in one of the nearby cafés. Evensong will start at 5.30pm.
Afterwards, anyone who wishes to join us for a drink in the The George is very welcome.
There is no charge for these events.
In order to help us plan, please register your interest below whether you intend joining us for the tour, Evensong or both.
