The annual Futures Convention is organised jointly between the Eastbournian Society and Eastbourne College Futures Department to provide current pupils with an opportunity to learn about potential career paths, university destinations, gap year options, and more.
The event is attended by more than 200 pupils and over 70 delegates - many of whom are former pupils or parents. The event is also open to other Eastbourne schools as part of the Coastal Schools Partnership. We are highly reliant on former pupils, as well as current and former parents, volunteering their time to make the event a success, and so we would like to invite our entire membership base to attend.
Any industry or career path is welcomed. We are especially keen for representatives working in less traditional career paths to expand the variety of futures on offer to students at the convention. There is no requirement to be representing your organisation in an official capacity - you can simply attend as an individual to share your experiences with pupils. The real value is in the conversations you have with our pupils.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
4pm Afternoon tea for delegates (free of charge)
5pm Convention begins for pupils in day houses
6pm Convention begins for pupils in boarding houses
7pm Convention closes and drinks for delegates
Please register below if you would like to attend the event as a delegate, and complete the questions regarding afternoon tea and your field of expertise.
Please write to Fiona Wallace at esevents@eastbourne-college.co.uk with any further questions.
