Global Horizons Business Breakfasts at Eastbourne College
Hosted by the Eastbournian Society
Our September event is the first in our second series of high-impact networking breakfasts designed for senior leaders and decision-makers across Eastbourne's business and professional community. Held in the Dining Hall of Eastbourne College, these events offer a unique opportunity to share best practice, exchange updates and strengthen connections between local businesses and the College's wider network, including parents of pupils at Eastbourne College and St Andrew's Prep.
Each breakfast features a high-calibre guest speaker, offering insights into leadership, innovation and the evolving business landscape. Our speaker for this breakfast is Old Eastbournian Ian Fletcher-Price.
Ian (Fletch) is the founder of Posturite, the workplace health and ergonomics company he started in Sussex in 1991 and grew into a market-leading business serving many of the UK's largest organisations. An inventor and entrepreneur, Fletch built the company around a simple mission: helping people feel and perform better at work.
His story has strong roots in Eastbourne College. He often reflects that his entrepreneurial journey began in Jack Cluer's workshop, where a fascination with designing and making things first took hold. Those early experiences helped shape the creativity, curiosity and practical problem-solving that would underpin his business career. Fletch later chose to send both of his children to Eastbourne College, maintaining a close connection with the school and its community.
Today, alongside his continuing involvement with Posturite, Fletch brings his experience and expertise to a diverse range of ventures as Chairman of Maré Restaurant which was recently awarded the first Michelin Star in Brighton & Hove for 50 years! He also is the Chairman for Cadence Cycle Club, Umoto and Stride Healthcare and is deeply committed to the Sussex community through his charitable and voluntary work.
At this Global Horizons Business Breakfast, Fletch will share the story of how a passion first nurtured at school led to the creation of a nationally recognised business, along with lessons on entrepreneurship, innovation, giving back and building successful organisations from Sussex.
