Some 30 members of the Eastbournian Society attended an entertaining talk given by John Thornley on Tuesday 21 June.

As well as speech there was also music, as John invited the guests to listen to some random musical excerpts from his eclectic collection amassed through decades of being on the edge of the musical world, interspersed with one or two relevant / irrelevant / irreverent anecdotes.

The none-too-serious talk was accompanied by cups of tea and posh cake, an appropriate fit for an English summer's afternoon.

Some of the guests are pictured here when they arrived at the College reception.
