We were invited to the most swell party of the year when the society wedding of the year descended into chaos... yes, another ES theatre trip, this time to the Barbican. This glorious dose of Golden Age music theatre escapism was much enjoyed by more than 20 members, some of whom are pictured.
Helen George (Call the Midwife, The King and I) starred as glamorous socialite Tracy Lord and was joined by Felicity Kendal (Rosemary and Thyme, Anything Goes), alongside a full size orchestra, delivering a score overflowing with the best of Cole Porter’s songbook including Just One Of Those Things, Let’s Misbehave, I Love Paris, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? and many more.
The regular programme of theatre visits continues unabated. Watch this space...
