OE Julian Martyr (Powell 1965-69) and his wife Jo (parents of OEs Dan and Sam) are opening their grounds to visitors on 19 and 20 July. There will be an artistan-makers medieval-style market with salt-making, musket-ball making, wood-turning, leather-working, metal-working, bee-keeping, fabric-dyeing, paper and canvas work, pottery and orchard products, and self-guided tours of the Elizabethan terrace, bothy, old manor house and dovecote. The Saxon Church in West Dean will be open.
Entrance by car £5; walk-in adults £3. Children under ten free. Dogs welcome on a short lead.
Tea, fresh coffee, home-made cakes on sale.
