What a fantastic couple of days in the Emirates
What a fantastic couple of days in the Emirates

The latest Eastbournian Society get-together at Monty’s at the Montgomerie Golf Club in Dubai saw Old Eastbournians from the 60s right through to the noughties catching up alongside Old Androvians, current parents, prospective families, and parents of former pupils. The sun was shining, the conversations were flowing, and it really felt like the perfect mix of Eastbournians old and new.

Dubai’s energy gave the whole occasion a real buzz, reminding us just how strong our connection with the Emirates has become in recent years. A huge thank you to Old Eastbournian and current parent Mark Pennington (Pennell 1984-89) for arranging such a stunning venue and making sure everything ran smoothly.

The reception followed on from the UK Boarding School Exhibition at the Royal Méridien Beach Resort and Spa the day before, where Jon Bathard-Smith (Powell 1988-93) our Director of Marketing and Admissions, met families keen to learn more about Eastbourne College and St Andrew’s Prep. We’re also incredibly grateful to Mike Lawrence who has two sons at the school and to his company Global Wealthmap for sponsoring the event.  Our Eastbournian Society Rep in Dubai is Oscar Orrelier Hyder (Reeves 2002-07), and we thank him and his wife Niki Mapouras-Hyder (Blackwater 2002-07) for their support.

If you’re based abroad and would like to hear about future events for our global community or find out more about our schools, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
