Our annual Oxford Gathering took place last night, and it was wonderful to see OEs of different generations come together. Read all about it in Mark Ackred's (Pennell 1991-96) own words...
"The Oxfordshire OEs met for the 4th annual early spring (still raining!) drinks at the King's Arms in Central Oxford last night. The event goes from strength to strength, and it was lovely to see new and old faces, spurred on by the effortlessly enthusiastic work of Andy Gillet to make for a fabulous evening. Many discussions were had, the hugely positive progress of the school was relaid and the fact that Pennell House still remains the best house, although slightly rebellious was confirmed (I am sure this will be edited...). A specific mention to Chris, who diverted from York university on his way home to Eastbourne to pledge his support, eventually landing home at 1am!
These events are what Eastbourne College is all about, shared memories, shared experiences, and a camaraderie that many other schools do not have, the variety of lives that we all lead and continue to lead makes for a wonderfully eclectic and fun evening. If you read this and are within the area make sure you come next time, in a challenging world climate some good old fashioned school verbal joshing was exactly what was required on a rainy Thursday night in February."
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening as fun as it was. If you missed out this time, never fear - it happens every year!
