Small but perfectly formed, a group of Eastbournians gathered on the terrace of The Grand Hotel in St Helier on a glorious summer evening. Ian Buckley (School 1968-73) and his delightful wife Sue had travelled over from Guernsey, Mark Le Brocq (Craig 1979-84) and his lovely wife Becky visiting from the UK, Development Director Emma Garrett (Nugent 1984-86) a Jersey girl at heart, and local resident Tim Nelson (School 1976-81) enjoyed a glass (or two) of rosé in the sunshine while reminiscing about Ascham, St Andrew's Prep and Eastbourne College.
Conversation flowed easily as memories were shared and connections renewed. The informal setting, overlooking the waterfront, provided the perfect backdrop for a thoroughly enjoyable gathering.
Many thanks to Tim Nelson for bringing everyone together, and we are already looking forward to continuing the Channel Islands tradition with a gathering in Guernsey in the coming months.
