A group of 40 enthusiasts gathered to indulge in an evening of fine wines and captivating stories, expertly led by wine merchant Nigel Strofton (Gonville 1955-59). Nigel regaled us with tales of his annual escapades through South Africa, enriching our knowledge of wine along the way.
The selection of wines was meticulously curated, each bottle chosen with care, and, rest assured, not a drop was left in the spittoon. The accompanying nibbles were the perfect complement to the wines, enhancing the overall tasting experience.
Wine buffs joined from all sections of the Eastbournian Society community, from staff and parents to Old Eastbournians and other College friends. It was delightful to see everyone come together to share in the enjoyment of fine wine and good company.
We thank Nigel for his expertise and hospitality, and to everyone who attended, so making it such a memorable occasion.
