Will Rendle (Wargrave 1999-2004) led a choir made up of people affected by the Post Office scandal in an emotional performance on Britain's Got Talent recently.

Will, who is the lead singer of the band Will and the People, appeared with the Hear Our Voice choir on the show broadcast on ITV on Saturday 1 March. He wrote the song, Falling Down, sung by the choir, after being contacted by the band's former tour manager, Mark Wildblood. Mark had become a sub-postmaster and got caught up in the scandal where hundreds were wrongly convicted of stealing from the Post Office because of defective accounting software, known as Horizon.

The 40-strong choir was formed as a way of keeping interest in the story about the miscarriage of justice. Will said: 'To stand on that stage with the Hear Our Voice Choir and perform our song means so much to them, and to me. It was an incredible experience. These people have been through so much, and the fact that music can help keep their fight in the public eye is a testament to its power. This is about more than just a performance - it’s about justice, and making sure these voices continue to be heard.'

The choir received a standing ovation and four 'Yeses' from the celebrity panel of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon. You can see the performance on YouTube.
