The annual community carol service on the last night of term proved again to be very popular. It was a true celebration not only of Christmas, with the College Choir on top form, but also a celebration of what the Eastbournian Society works hard to achieve: bringing together the many and various College supporters whose contacts with the school remain strong, some after many years. The post-service mulled wine and mince pies was an ideal way for us to say thank you as we move into 2025, a year which will see the long-anticipated Giving Day on 11 March to support the Blue Sky Bursaries Appeal. A very happy Christmas and new year to you all from the Eastbournian Society team.
Also see in the picture, on the left-hand side, the new display cabinet, funded by the Arnold Embellishers and other donors including money from the estate of the late Derek Granger (Powell 1935-39), where awards given to Derek and also to Ian Fraser (Sykes) (Pennell 1947-51) can be seen. More news about this later in the new year.
