Twenty-five sixth formers had a great time visiting legal London recently. OE Rick Liddell (Reeves 1989-94), who had given of his time also in the Michaelmas term when he visited the College for a networking event, invited the group for a Q and A session and lunch in his chambers. A tour of the Inns of Court followed which was given by a Blue Badge guide with a legal background. Masses of information about the legal system from both Rick and the guide was given out and the pupils absorbed as much as they could. The final flourish was a quick visit to the Royal Courts of Justice where the pupils were able not only to go in and look round but also sit in briefly on some cases which were still being heard at the end of the day.
Networking events for current pupils, organised by Head of Futures Sarah Gordon and the Eastbournian Society Office are an important part of what the College can offer, and the pupils were clearly very appreciative. If you are able to offer your time and experience, or have any ideas for a similar event, do please get in touch with the team by email here.
