The Eastbournian Society's latest theatre trip proved to be a big hit, not just with our group, but also with many members of the audience who gave it a standing ovation.

The matinee performance of the musical Come From Away on Wednesday 16 November, at the Phoenix Theatre in London, was enjoyed by 30 ES members, who took advantage of the discounted group rate we were able to arrange.

The show has won every major UK award for Best New Musical, and tells the real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada in the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community of Gander that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives.

Some of the ES group are pictured here showing their appreciation for the show.
