Former pupils, former parents, and current parents (who all fall under the banner of Eastbournian Society members) working in the insurance industry all gathered at Davy's Wine Bar on Wednesday 23 November for a highly enjoyable networking evening. The group were also joined by current sixth form pupils interested in joining the sector, and took the opportunity to speak to ES members, who very generously shared their experiences and passed on advice.
It's always lovely to see ES members from a wide range of generations reminisicing about their times at the College, and this evening was no different with plenty of laughter throughout the night - the event even extended informally to a nearby pub afterwards!
Peter Matthews, former parent and CEO of two insurance firms, generously gave his time to be guest speaker. Peter spoke passionately about why he loves the industry - receiving many nods of agreement from the audience - and about how he accidentally ended up working in insurance in the first place! Our thanks again to Peter sharing his story with us.
