Tom Sangster to perform saxophone concerto at the Birley Centre

Saxophonist and conductor Tom Sangster (Powell 2016-18) will be performing at the Birley Centre on Wednesday 2 July. The concert will include David Maslanka’s evocative Saxophone Concerto for alto saxophone and wind ensemble, as well as Pedro Ituralde's Pequeña Czarda and Ryo Noda's Maï.

Tom, who was a music scholar at the College, later attended Leeds University, where he graduated with honours in saxophone and performance. Since 2023, Tom has enjoyed assisting in the classroom at Ardingly College, where he also rehearses ensembles and teaches music theory.
