Some 30 pupils and other guests gathered for our College-based legal networking evening recently. Our guest speakers were Richard Liddell KC (Reeves 1989–94), 4 New Square Chambers (specialising in commercial disputes, liability claims, construction and engineering litigation, and sports law), and Jeremy Stone (Pennell 2000–02), legal director, Williams F1, focusing on sports and media law, with expertise across all aspects of the entertainment industry. Some guests present were also legally trained and talked about their experiences, and pupils made it their goal to spend talking with the speakers and as many of the guests as possible.
It was a most informative evening, with a lot of connections made and knowledge gained. Those pupils present were able to pursue some ideas for their future plans and make steps to organising some work experience. One of the parents present remarked how lucky we are to have such strong connections with our former pupils. This evening is a perfect example of one of the benefits of what the Eastbournian Society does all the time. Watch out for the next legal networking event which we are planning for a London venue. Please get in touch if you can help with this.
