Our first-ever Giving Day got off to an energetic start with a competition between two teams to pull one of the school minibuses along Old Wish Road.
The two teams – one made up of minibus drivers and the other of College porters and maintenance department (with some leading help from Jack Roberts from the Sports department) – took it in turns to pull the bus from the Headmaster's House to Craven Cottage, the home of the Eastbournian Society office.
The winning team was the porters and maintenance crew, who took just 34 seconds to complete the challenge. The drivers came in second with a respectable 41 seconds.
Our thanks go to Jason Andrews, one of the College drivers, who first made the suggestion for the competition, and to Headmaster Tom Lawson who also took part – by riding in the passenger seat in the bus.
