Last weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming back a vibrant group of 70 Old Eastbournians, some of whom brought family members and partners to revisit their old school.
The day kicked off with a spirited house rugby match. Despite the rain, the enthusiasm remained high as many cheered on their former houses. A wonderful spread for lunch was laid out in Big School, where Old Eastbournians had the chance to chat, reminisce, and enjoy a display of archival photos. It was a delight to see past pupils reconnect with former teachers and share memories.
Throughout the day, school and house tours allowed attendees to explore the familiar and the new, witnessing first-hand the changes and continuities since their time here. The OE fives team and the Arnold Embellishers, fresh from their annual meeting, joined in the festivities, adding to the sense of community.
The Arnold Embellishers were delighted to view the King Charles and Crawshaw Henley Gates at both ends of Old Wish Road, designed by competition winner David Mortimer (Wargrave 1987-92) as well as the display cabinet in the Warren Atrium to house awards won by OEs in the creative arts. Both were projects which involved the benefaction of the Arnold Embellishers for which we are extremely grateful. You can find out more about this group of supportive Eastbournians here.
Many had made it into a bumper weekend, having attended the Annual Dinner the night before.
