Networking: banking, broking and asset management

We were delighted to host our 11th banking, broking and asset management networking event at PwC, 7 More London Riverside, courtesy of College governor and PwC partner leading their London financial services.

Some 50 guests, including OEs and 15 current pupils, gathered to meet and exchange ideas in the stunning building overlooking Tower Bridge.

Our thanks go to all those who joined us to help and advise both the pupils and also OEs who have recently left, some of whom are at university; all considering a future in this industry.

Guest speaker James Leighton, managing director at Citi Investment Management, Citi Global Wealth brought a wealth of expertise to the table with his 30 years of experience at Citigroup in various asset management roles. He outlined various aspects of what he does and gave the pluses and minuses of a career in the financial world. His enthusiasm for what he does invited many questions from the floor as well as in the many other conversations which took place.

Such networking events are integral to the work of the what the ES does. Not only are they helpful to the careers of those who come along, but old acquaintances are renewed and new ones forged. One OE who was able to join us had reappeared after some 40 years and it was a delight to catch up.
