Chris Laughton writes: It was a pleasure to welcome back 18 OAs from the 2014 cohort on Saturday 18 May. Some had flown in from parts of Europe to be with us. They were keen to not only meet up again but to also see the many changes that have happened since leaving the school a decade ago.

After welcome drinks, tours of the school took place before we all sat down for a delightful meal in the dining room. A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and lively conversation ensured that the evening effortlessly overran as people wanted to linger and chat far longer than we had anticipated. It all made for a very memorable and enjoyable evening and we certainly intend to hold similar reunions for other cohorts in the future.

Two of the OAs wrote back to say how much they had enjoyed catching up and reminiscing with their peers. One had been a pupil at St Andrew’s for eight years while the other came over from France for just two summer terms in 2012 and 2014.

'Coming back for a 10-year reunion at St Andrew’s was brilliant. It was great to see the school again where we all grew up together. We all enjoyed reminiscing over some of our fondest childhood memories, from the culinary wonders of Piglets’ Pantry to the achievements out on the sports field - even a few funny anecdotes from the various classrooms we visited! A brilliant evening and would certainly recommend a visit to any OAs that are yet to return!'

'Thank you for organising this event and creating this community around St Andrew's. What you said in your speech during the dinner is exactly what I feel - the memories I have of my time at St Andrew's are unique and I will never be bored of remembering them. I was there only six months in total but it had a huge impact on me and my life, that's why I wouldn't have missed the evening for anything! It's particularly nice for me to come back and reminisce with you because I can't really do that in France. It is an honour for me to be part of this community. Thank you for making me feel so welcome even though I am foreign and stayed only a few months. I didn't feel left out at all!'
