Storm Darragh couldn't stop an intrepid group from attending the amazing production of The Importance of Being Earnest directed by Max Webster and starring OE Hugh Skinner (Pennell 1998-2003) at the Lyttelton Theatre on the last Saturday of term.
Hugh, well-known for many roles including the hapless intern Will in W1A and Prince William in The Windsors, played protagonist Jack Worthing who, as an infant, was left in a bag at Victoria Station (the Brighton line).
In our group too were the family of the late OA and OE Christopher Harris (Reeves 1948-51), an RIBA qualified architect, who proudly worked for fellow OE Sir Hugh Casson (School 1924-27) from 1958-1963 and later for Sir Denys Lasdun working on large projects such as as the National Theatre London, and who designed the Lyttelton Theatre.
And Hugh had a moment after the matinée to say hello before dashing off to get something to eat before the evening show. It was a real treat and lightened up the end of the long Michaelmas term.
