The annual quiz night took place recently, a great, much-awaited and much-loved event in the ES calendar. IQs were burnished, groups of highly intelligent punters applied for tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, money exchanged hands and,finally, the night arrived. Some managed to negotiate the tricky instructions explaining through which gate they should enter the campus, others got lost and roamed up and down Carlisle Road and had to be rescued. Eventually, with pencils in hand, (178) questions were answered, while delicious curry was eaten. Quiz-master and chief scorer weren't sure at the end which team had actually won (though the gallery photo may hold the answer) so expensive prizes were liberally distributed, and everyone went away happy-ish. When asked if they will return next year, they all put put up their hands, much to the consternation of the organisers. Must do better next year....
