A curry lunch was held at the College on Sunday 30 October, in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund. One of the organisers, Keith Ross (School 1958-63), reports:
The Army Benevolent Fund (The Soldiers Charity) held a successful and highly enjoyable 'officers mess-style' curry lunch in the spacious College Dining Room. Approximately 150 supporters of the ABF, and members of the Eastbournian Society, enjoyed a magnificent curry lunch (with all the trimmings) produced by the College caterers. There followed a very generous raffle, plus an auction of four items ably carried out by Emma Garrett, the College's development director.
It was a very happy occasion which raised over £5000 for the ABF. Members of the Eastbourne College Combined Cadet Force provided valuable help throughout the day, greeting the guests and carrying out various tasks, gaining much experience in the process, and enjoying chatting to many of the distinguished guests.
