Identity, the events company run by Michael Gietzen (Reeves 2001-03), produced London's spectacular fireworks and drone celebration on New Year's Eve, welcoming 2023 in style.

Michael said: 'What a career highlight! I really hope everyone enjoyed the London New Year celebrations - With Love From London. I could not be more proud of the team at Identity. Thank you to all our stakeholders and partners, collaborators and suppliers, and of course all the very clever people at HQ. Congratulations on an epic show!'

The show highlighted the Lionesses’ history-making Euro 2022 win at Wembley, marked 50 years of London's Pride with a powerful message from Peter Tatchell from the Gay Liberation Front, and sent a message of support to Ukraine. The display also paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, featuring a voice recording from Her Majesty and words from Dame Judi Dench, and honoured King Charles III, together with a message from His Majesty about the need to preserve our planet’s future.

This year’s display, which was watched by 100,000 people on the banks of the Thames and by millions on television worldwide, formed part of the Mayor of London’s 'Love London' tourism campaign, and included 12,000 fireworks and 400 drones.

Hannah Clark, Identity’s project director said: 'We were honoured and proud to support the GLA in the delivery of London’s biggest New Year’s Eve show, the first time Identity has had the privilege of delivering this important event. We worked in close collaboration with the GLA to develop our 'with love from London' theme, creating a spectacular show that sent a message of love and unity to the world.'
